Many strong drone ideas depend on the location. Under the EASA framework, CTR areas, UAS geographical zones, restricted spaces and public environments can all affect what is possible.
A great shot still needs a compliant flight environment. Each location is checked against the EASA Open and EASA Specific category framework, controlled airspace, CTR restrictions, UAS geographical zones, temporary restrictions and any authorisation requirements that may affect the operation.
Roads, water, crowds, buildings, events and privacy-sensitive areas are assessed as part of the operational risk. In dense city locations this helps determine whether the flight can remain within EASA Open category limits or needs EASA Specific preparation.
Checking a map pin before the shoot allows the production team to understand the permission route early. Timing, camera movement, crew setup or location can then be adjusted before the aerial shot is locked into the schedule.
